Role Summary

Rokstone Engineering is a specialist engineering underwriting business operating across global markets. As an Underwriting Assistant, you will provide vital support to the Engineering Underwriting team, ensuring the efficient administration, servicing and processing of engineering risks throughout the policy lifecycle. Working closely with Underwriters, brokers, capacity providers and operational teams, you will help deliver exceptional service standards, maintain underwriting accuracy and support the profitable growth of the Engineering portfolio.

Role

Accountabilities
  • Support the underwriting team with new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations and mid-term adjustments.
  • Prepare and issue quotations, binders, endorsements, policies and associated underwriting documentation accurately and within agreed service levels.
  • Act as a key point of contact for brokers, ensuring enquiries and requests are managed professionally and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate underwriting records and ensure all risk, premium and policy information is captured within underwriting systems.
  • Monitor and track outstanding subjectivities, documentation and broker requirements to ensure timely completion.
  • Assist underwriters with portfolio reporting, management information, data analysis and renewal planning activities.
  • Work collaboratively with underwriting operations, claims, finance, compliance and other internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth servicing of business.
  • Support capacity providers by ensuring accurate and timely reporting, documentation and bordereaux production where required.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with brokers, insurers, reinsurers, TPAs, adjusters and other market stakeholders.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with delegated authority agreements, internal governance standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve underwriting processes, operational efficiency and broker service delivery.
  • Contribute to the achievement of portfolio growth, retention and profitability objectives.
Role Requirements
  • Previous experience within insurance, underwriting support, underwriting operations or broker operations.
  • Strong understanding of policy administration and insurance documentation processes.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Experience with in Engineering, Specialty, Lloyd's, Company Market or MGA environments.
  • Exposure to delegated authority, binder business or bordereaux reporting.
  • Understanding of engineering insurance products and underwriting processes.
  • Experience using underwriting and policy administration systems.
