CLAIMS EXECUTIVE – PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY

The primary focus of this role is handling Professional Indemnity (PI) claims
.

There may also be a requirement to assist with Property, Travel and other claims as needed.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of Professional Indemnity claims
, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to efficiently manage a caseload while maintaining a commercial focus.

The role also requires a close working relationship with clients, solicitors, brokers, loss adjusters and other service providers to ensure claims are handled effectively and in accordance with the covers provided.

• Manage a portfolio of Professional Indemnity claims from notification through to settlement
  , ensuring timely and cost-effective resolution.
• Assist in handling Property, Travel and other claims when required.
• Refer claims outside individual handling authority in accordance with referral requirements.
• Investigate claims thoroughly, gathering all necessary information and evidence.
• Assess coverage, policy response, legal liability and quantum
  .
• Consider allegations of professional negligence, breach of duty and other circumstances relevant to PI claims.
• Liaise with clients, solicitors, brokers, third parties and other service providers to ensure effective claims handling and appropriate outcomes.
• Negotiate settlements and take appropriate action to mitigate potential losses.
• Ensure claims are handled promptly and to a high standard and in accordance with claims handling procedures, internal policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure claim reserves are regularly reviewed and accurately maintained.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all claims activity within internal systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service, keeping clients informed throughout the claims process through to conclusion.
• Support the wider claims team and contribute to process improvements.
• Work closely with all parts of the business, including underwriting, risk management, accounts, IT and marketing, to ensure a high level of service is delivered.
• Participate in meetings with clients, solicitors and service providers to discuss claim-related issues and prepare any documentation required.
• Assist in ensuring that service providers deliver a high-quality, cost-effective service by monitoring performance, quality and cost.
• Fully participate in individual and shared project work and assignments as required.
• Contribute to company publications, including newsletters and technical bulletins, where required.
• Undertake other tasks as reasonably required.

• Experience handling Professional Indemnity claims is essential.
• Strong technical knowledge of Professional Indemnity insurance and claims handling principles and processes
  .
• Strong understanding of PI policy coverage, professional negligence, legal liability and quantum assessment
  .
• Experience dealing with solicitors and other professional advisers in relation to complex claims.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• First-class customer focus and an ability to build collaborative relationships.
• A strong analytical mind with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
• Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and ensure deadlines and SLAs are met without compromising quality.
• Able to make sound decisions, including when working under pressure.
