ResponsibilitiesPJT Partners is seeking to hire a highly-skilled lawyer (3-6 years PQE) to join our Legal team in London. The individual should be English law qualified and have relevant experience from a leading international law firm or in-house at a financial institution involved in corporate finance in the UK/Europe. This role is an exciting opportunity to join an established and fast-growing business and would suit an individual who (i) is comfortable working within a dynamic and energetic environment, (ii) possesses strong interpersonal skills, and (iii) is a consummate team player.
This individual will work closely with and advise PJT Partners’ strategic advisory and restructuring and special situations business groups and work directly with clients of the Firm in providing transactional support, including review and negotiation of legal documents and legal advice and guidance on solutions and risk management in the context of client transactions/mandates. This individual will also work closely with and advise the boards of directors and management of PJT Partners subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East on corporate governance matters.
Outside of transactional and corporate governance work, the role also involves providing legal coverage and advice for the Company’s Corporate functions and Company-wide initiatives and directly advising the management of PJT Partners and other stakeholders on various legal matters. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in broadening their general corporate law skill‑set outside of purely transactional work and who can work well independently and as part of a team.
We seek to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and proven self-starters. In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:
- English law qualified
- 3-6 years PQE, with relevant experience from a leading international law firm or in-house at a leading financial institution involved in corporate finance in the UK/Europe
- M&A and Capital markets experience preferred
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player with the ability to be pro‑active in a dynamic business environment, whilst adhering to firm policies and practices
- Ability to think laterally to identify and assess wider risks for the Firm, and to work with the business and other control functions to find solutions
- Strong analytical, prioritisation and organisation skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Language abilities an advantage but not essential
