Our Legal Services team plays a central role in enabling good governance, managing risk and supporting Councillors. We are seeking motivated and collaborative legal professionals who are committed to customer focus, continuous improvement, service excellence and ongoing professional development.

For some roles, this will include attending and advising Councillors at Planning Committee meetings and, where required, Licensing Sub‑Committee hearings.

We are looking for individuals who will lead by example, modelling and embedding the Council’s values and behaviours. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, partners and other stakeholders to help build a sustainable, highly effective organisation and to strengthen our reputation as a successful council delivering great value for its communities.

We are committed to supporting and developing our staff and creating an inclusive, supportive working environment where people can thrive. You will have the opportunity to work on varied and interesting legal matters, develop your expertise and contribute to a forward‑thinking legal service that is proud of the difference it makes.

We have a hybrid working model and staff will be expected to attend the office 2-3 days a week. Staff will be supported to do this with mobile IT equipment and hot desk facilities in all offices across the borough.
