As a Supply Chain Lead, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a sustainable, efficient, and strategically aligned supply chain to support critical programmes. You will work as a key member of the Supply Chain function, shaping supplier strategies, influencing decision‑making, and strengthening a network of partners to safeguard commercial interests and enable successful programme delivery.
You will help drive improvements in supplier collaboration, operational performance, sourcing processes, and continuous improvement across the business—making a tangible impact on complex, mission‑led programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide senior supply chain support to programmes, including supplier identification and shaping negotiation and tender strategies
- Lead competitive sourcing activities to ensure on‑time delivery, best value, and alignment with programme requirements
- Negotiate and implement agreements, ensuring customer flowdowns and commercial requirements are fully captured
- Proactively manage supplier relationships, including pricing, availability, performance, and obsolescence risk
- Oversee supplier governance and performance management, tracking key metrics such as OTIF, quality, and risk
- Collaborate closely with programme teams, providing updates, reporting, and clear stakeholder communication
- Support and guide Supply Chain team members while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience with in a supply chain function and understanding of how supply chain operations drive organisational efficiency
- Proven experience negotiating and managing subcontracts, with knowledge of contract and subcontract law
- Ability to manage supply chain elements within complex programmes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills and strong MS Office / presentation capability
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
- Degree-qualified or equivalent in a relevant subject
- CIPS qualification
- Experience with US export/import trade controls
- Knowledge of European language
