Our client is a well-established international trading and procurement business with a global presence and operations across multiple countries.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative Engineering Procurement team based in London. As an Engineering Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing engineering spare parts and assemblies for manufacturing customers across the Middle East, working with suppliers throughout Europe and the Far East.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the procurement process from enquiry through to purchase order.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations, comparing cost, quality, lead times and commercial terms.
  • Prepare detailed costings, calculate margins and produce customer quotations.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules and commercial agreements with suppliers.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders using an ERP/SAP system.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Source engineering spare parts and technical components from international suppliers.
  • Produce procurement reports and maintain accurate purchasing records.
  • Ensure supplier information, quotations and contracts are accurately maintained within internal systems.
  • Provide administrative support to the engineering team, including managing telephone and email enquiries.
  • Maintain product information, catalogues and procurement databases.
About You
  • A qualification in Engineering, Technical Studies or a Science-related discipline.
  • From 2 years' experience within engineering procurement or technical buying.
  • Experience purchasing engineering components, technical products or industrial spare parts.
  • Strong commercial awareness with an excellent understanding of procurement best practice.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and foreign exchange considerations within an international trading environment.
  • Proven supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Experience using ERP systems, with SAP Business One experience highly desirable.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A proactive, flexible and collaborative approach to work.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English; additional European language skills would be advantageous.
  • A willingness to learn new systems and adapt within a dynamic international
