The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Manager to join a growing healthcare organisation operating across multiple sites and clinics. This role will play a key part in establishing best-in-class procurement processes, supplier partnerships, and commercial controls to support the organisation's continued growth and operational excellence.

Reporting into senior leadership, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and embedding procurement strategies, improving supplier performance, driving cost efficiencies, and enhancing commercial governance across both direct and indirect spend categories.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Category Management
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that support business objectives, service delivery requirements, and commercial performance.
  • Lead sourcing activities, supplier selection processes, negotiations, and contract awards across multiple spend categories.
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities whilst maintaining quality, service, and compliance standards.
  • Establish a robust category management approach and spend visibility across the organisation.
  • Implement and embed a formal Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework.
  • Develop strategic supplier partnerships and performance management processes.
  • Create supplier scorecards, KPIs, and review mechanisms to drive continuous improvement and value creation.
  • Manage supplier risk, business continuity planning, and contract compliance activities.
Contract & Commercial Management
  • Establish and maintain contract management processes across the supplier base.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, service level agreements, pricing models, and renewal strategies.
  • Ensure contracts are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle, including performance monitoring and compliance reviews.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to support commercial decision-making and supplier governance.
  • Develop and manage pricing structures to support profitability objectives.
  • Analyse supplier costs, margin performance, and commercial opportunities.
  • Review and negotiate payment terms to optimise cash flow and working capital.
  • Support the business in assessing product, service, and supplier profitability through robust margin calculations and reporting.
Demand Planning & Forecasting
  • Establish demand planning and forecasting foundations to improve procurement effectiveness and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with operational teams and clinics to improve purchasing accuracy and reduce waste.
  • Utilise data and spend analytics to support planning and supplier capacity management.
  • Drive improvements in stock availability, inventory performance, and supply continuity.
Systems, Processes & Capability Development
  • Support ongoing procurement and ERP system development and optimisation.
  • Train and coach clinic teams on procurement processes, systems utilisation, and best practice purchasing behaviours.
  • Promote adoption of ERP and procurement technologies to improve compliance, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to enhance procurement maturity across the organisation.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Procurement Manager, Category Manager, or Strategic Sourcing role.
  • Strong supplier relationship management and contract management expertise.
  • Experience implementing procurement processes, governance frameworks, and commercial controls.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing pricing structures, payment terms, and margin analysis.
  • Knowledge of demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management principles.
  • Experience working with ERP and procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Net Suite, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Experience with in healthcare, life sciences, clinical services, retail healthcare, FMCG, or multi-site operational environments would be advantageous.
