Job Description & How to Apply Below
Facilities Management Operative
Location:
East London
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Facilities Management Operative to keep one of our key client sites running smoothly. In this role, you’ll be the face of the Facilities team on site—supporting employees and contractors, maintaining high standards, and ensuring the environment is safe, clean, and well‑managed. If you’re hands‑on, solutions‑focused, and enjoy ensuring everything is in great working order, this could be the perfect next step for you.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing Customer Service & Site Coordination
- Act as the first point of contact for staff queries and minor issues.
- Liaise with contractors, organise site inductions, and support visitors.
- Work closely with the wider FM and CBRE team to ensure all reactive tasks are completed efficiently.
- Escalate building or service concerns to the client team or Regional Manager.
- Complete daily/weekly site inspections and raise any issues promptly.
- Maintain high cleanliness standards across kitchens, toilets, yard areas, and the site’s CFS building.
- Handle minor repair tasks such as tightening fixtures, adjusting monitor arms, and maintaining furniture.
- Conduct minor electrical checks and tasks (e.g., replace fuses, bulbs, or check power supplies).
- Handle basic plumbing tasks including isolating water supplies, unblocking toilets, and tightening waste fittings.
- Adjust HVAC settings when necessary.
- Assist with fire alarm tests and escort subcontractors for PPM activities.
- Manage internal and external post.
- Ensure all tasks are logged on the CAFM system.
- Support any reasonable task within your competency during working hours.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Are professional, personable, and take pride in your appearance.
- Have a proactive, dynamic approach to problem‑solving.
- Enjoy working hands‑on and are confident handling minor repairs and FM tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively.
- Are comfortable working independently while being part of a wider team.
Experience in facilities, maintenance, or a similar hands‑on role is beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
Why Join Us?- Opportunity to work with a leading FM organisation.
- Supportive team environment.
- Varied daily work—no two days are the same.
- A role where your contribution directly improves the workplace experience.
