As a Station Cleaning Operative you will be joining a team of well trained, experienced and passionate staff who strive to uphold company values and deliver exceptional services to our customers. Use the training provided to follow HSQE and rail critical safety. Following WPP’s to ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed to the highest of standards and within the time frames set.
Using the systems provided to record work completed and report on faults across the allocated working area in a constructive and professional manner.
Areas of responsibility as a static/mobile station cleaner include platforms, bridges, stairs, subways, station entrances, cycle sheds and car parks, approach roads, lifts, ticket offices, waiting rooms and shelters, WC washrooms, kitchens, drivers mess rooms, and offices. These are subject to the leased land and station assets.
- Poster boards, noticeboards and signage.
- Lamp posts.
- Glazing and associated frames.
- Touchpoints – that could encounter customer possessions.
- Handrails and railings.
- Benches and seating areas.
- All ledges and window grills.
- Daily litter pick and leaf removal – inclusive of sharps using equipment provided.
- Waste bag changing at varied points throughout shift.
- Sweeping and mopping.
- Machine cleaning of floors where applicable.
- Vacuuming carpets and entrance matting where applicable.
- Gum removal.
- Desks and work surfaces.
- Consumable replenishments.
- Low level dusting.
- Internal glazing and associated frames.
- Hand sanitiser units.
- Toilets and urinals.
- Sinks, taps, and surrounds.
- Mirrors – smear free.
- Ledges and cubicle tops.
- Vents and grills.
- Hand dryers and surrounds.
- Sanitary bins.
- Toilet paper and soap dispensers – consumable replenishment also required.
- Floor mopping.
- Walls.
- Keeping cleaning cupboard clean and tidy.
- Equipment maintained ready for next use.
- Pre‑use checks completed of all equipment.
- Machine cleaned and placed on charge after use.
- Shared phones placed on charge at shift end ready for next user.
- Any faulty items reported to line manager in a timely manner.
- Have a basic understanding of app‑based software.
- Using a handheld device provided to complete tasks via Work‑IT.
- Taking clear and quality before and after photos of tasks completed enabling us to show compliance to our customer.
