From £16.50 per hour
Shift: Monday - Friday
Hours:
3:00pm - 7:00pm

About the Role
HRGO Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Cleaner Supervisor to work within a busy education setting in the Croydon (SE19) area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a cleaning team and ensuring that all areas of the site are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities Supervision & Team Management- Lead and supervise a team of cleaning staff
- Allocate daily duties and manage work schedules
- Monitor staff attendance and performance
- Train and support new and existing team members
- Ensure all areas (classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal spaces) are cleaned thoroughly
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain high standards
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and cleaning procedures
- Ensure adherence to COSHH regulations and correct use of PPE
- Report any hazards, accidents, or maintenance issues
- Ensure safe handling, use, and storage of cleaning chemicals
- Monitor and manage cleaning supplies
- Reorder stock when required
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and used correctly
- Liaise with the Facilities or Site Manager
- Handle cleaning-related queries or requests from staff and students
- Maintain records such as attendance, cleaning logs, and audits
- Support the team with cleaning duties when needed
- Provide cover in the event of staff shortages
- Previous cleaning experience (essential)
- Supervisory experience (preferred)
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and chemicals
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and solve problems
- Enhanced DBS (issued within the last 12 months or registered on the DBS Update Service)
- Understanding of health & safety practices
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
