Maintenance Planner – East London & Essex

A well-established refurbishment and maintenance contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Planner to join their team, supporting social housing maintenance programmes across East London and Essex.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working on social housing frameworks, planned maintenance or Decent Homes programmes, with experience coordinating works across both tenanted and void properties.
The Role
As Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling maintenance and refurbishment works, ensuring operatives and subcontractors are efficiently allocated and works are completed within agreed timescales.
* Plan and schedule maintenance and refurbishment works across tenanted and void properties.
* Coordinate operatives, subcontractors and resources to ensure efficient delivery.
* Manage daily and weekly work programmes.
* Liaise with Site Managers, Contracts Managers and Resident Liaison Officers.
* Arrange appointments and coordinate access to occupied properties.
* Monitor job progress and identify delays or issues requiring attention.
* Update internal systems with work orders, appointments and completion information.
* Communicate with residents regarding appointments and planned works where required.
* Ensure works are scheduled in line with client requirements and contractual KPIs.
* Track outstanding works, missed appointments and remedial requirements.
* Produce regular updates and reports on programme performance.
* Work closely with operational teams to maintain high levels of productivity and customer service.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Previous experience as a Maintenance Planner, Repairs Planner, Scheduler or similar role.
* Essential experience working on social housing frameworks or Decent Homes programmes.
* Experience coordinating works across both tenanted and void properties.
* Strong knowledge of social housing maintenance and refurbishment environments.
* Experience scheduling multiple operatives and subcontractors.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with residents, operatives and management.
* Good IT and administration skills.
* The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience working with housing management, repairs or scheduling systems would be advantageous.
