Live-Out Housekeeper/Cook - Chelsea, London

Location: Chelsea, London

Hours: Monday to Friday, 11:00am-7:00pm

Salary: £45,000-£50,000 gross per annum, depending on experience

We are seeking an exceptional Housekeeper with simple cooking skills to join a warm, friendly and professional family of three based in a beautifully presented townhouse in Chelsea. The family consists of two busy professionals and their teenage daughter. They are looking for someone who will take genuine pride in their work and become a trusted and valued part of the household.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised, polished and proactive individual with an excellent eye for detail. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys taking ownership of their role, is able to use their initiative and can ensure the home runs smoothly and efficiently.

The family home is a stylish, modern three-bedroom Chelsea townhouse with two reception rooms. The property has recently been redecorated and features contemporary interiors and furnishings. There are no pets.

Responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining the home to an immaculate standard at all times
• General cleaning, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting and care of all surfaces
• Laundry and ironing
• Wardrobe management and organisation
• Basic garment care and minor repairs where required
• Keeping cupboards, wardrobes and household areas organised
• Packing and unpacking luggage for family trips
• Ensuring household supplies are monitored and replenished
• Grocery shopping and running household errands
• Shopping locally, including visits to Waitrose, the butcher and greengrocers
• Careful management of the home's furnishings and interiors
• General household organisation and proactive day-to-day support

The family travels regularly, particularly during school holidays, during periods when the family is away, there will be no cooking requirements, allowing the Housekeeper to focus on maintaining and organising the property.

Cooking is an important element of this position. The family enjoys healthy, straightforward and well-prepared home cooking. The successful candidate should be confident preparing fresh family meals on a daily basis and taking responsibility for menu planning and grocery shopping.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A minimum of five years' experience working in a private household
• Excellent, checkable references
• Experience maintaining a private home to exceptionally high standards
• Strong laundry, ironing and wardrobe management skills
• Confidence preparing healthy family meals
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• The ability to commute reliably to Chelsea

Experience with floristry, table presentation or entertaining would be advantageous, although not essential.
