EY’s Financial Restructuring team is among the leading teams in the market, working with stressed and challenged businesses at times of change. The team is part of EY’s Strategy & Transactions business and delivers financial and organisational solutions that help clients adapt, succeed, or minimise downside risks.

• Manage restructuring engagements by working closely with the Senior Manager / Partner to deliver best execution for a diverse range of clients.
• Lead or participate in project teams, producing deliverables and driving projects to completion while learning from peers and senior team members.
• Build and nurture relationships internally across EY’s specialist teams and externally with client staff, lenders, and lawyers.
• Coach and counsel team members, contributing to a positive learning culture from day one.

• Financial analysis and scenario modelling to support decision‑making and awareness of drivers of corporate failure or underperformance.
• Commercial acumen, applying knowledge of the wider business environment to client work.
• Ability to identify key issues and suggest workable solutions.
• Strong presentation skills – delivering findings clearly in reports and other deliverables.
• Proactive knowledge sharing with the team based on prior experience and current learning.
• Professionalism and confidence in dealing with a range of stakeholder groups.
• Excellent project management skills, handling multiple assignments with quality and consistency.
• Adaptability to change and a flexible, positive approach.
• Experience with in‑court restructuring solutions such as CVA, restructuring plans, scheme of arrangement, and administration.
• Desire to support people development through training courses, recruitment, and team wellbeing activities.
• Strong appreciation of risk management.

• Professional accountancy qualification.
• Previous experience within a restructuring environment.
• Experience with independent business reviews and cash‑flow forecasting for corporate or lender clients.
• Ability to build strong internal relationships within restructuring and across other services, and to participate actively in business development.
• Skills or desire to be a good manager of people – coaching, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews.
• Appreciation of the risks inherent in advising distressed businesses and their stakeholders.

• Experience working on large complex restructuring cases with multiple lenders or other stakeholders.
• People development experience and ability to supervise, coach, and mentor staff.
• Own network of contacts with work providers or the ability to build one.
