An established organisation delivering complex infrastructure and engineering projects is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects.
This is a senior, portfolio-level role focused on governance, coordination and stakeholder management rather than hands-on planning. The Programme Manager will provide strategic oversight across multiple projects, ensuring alignment to programme objectives, reporting frameworks and delivery milestones.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing a programme of works made up of multiple projects, providing structure, visibility and assurance to senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
* Oversight of multiple projects within a defined programme
* Establishing and maintaining programme governance and reporting frameworks
* Coordinating project managers and workstream leads
* Providing clear, concise programme-level reporting to senior stakeholders
* Managing interdependencies, risks and interfaces across projects
* Chairing programme meetings and steering groups
* Supporting strategic decision-making through data, dashboards and insights
* Ensuring consistency in programme controls, reporting and delivery approach
* Acting as the primary interface between delivery teams and senior leadership or clients
About You
You will be an experienced Programme Manager with a background in infrastructure, construction or engineering environments, comfortable operating at a strategic and stakeholder-facing level.
You will ideally have:
* Proven experience managing programmes or portfolios of projects
* Strong governance, reporting and stakeholder management skills
* Experience coordinating multiple project managers or delivery teams
* Confidence presenting programme status, risks and recommendations
* A structured, organised and communicative approach
* Experience in client-side, consultancy or senior contractor roles
* Familiarity with dashboards, reporting tools and programme controls
* (hands-on P6 experience is not essential)
