Interim People Consulting Manager – Learning & Development
- Length of assignment: potentially 12 weeks and 6 months (with some longer-term engagements)
- Rate: paying between £700 to £800/day inside IR35

We are partnering with a leading global professional services organisation to recruit an interim Manager into its fast-growing People Consulting – Learning practice, focused on Financial Services.
This role offers the opportunity to lead complex learning and capability programmes for some of the world’s largest Banking, Insurance, and Asset & Wealth Management organisations, helping clients navigate large-scale transformation, regulatory change, and future skills agendas.
The RoleAs a Manager, you will lead learning-focused engagements end to end, overseeing multiple work streams and managing teams to deliver high-impact solutions. You will play a key role in shaping client strategies, driving innovation, and contributing to the growth of the learning practice.
You’ll work closely with senior client stakeholders and internal partners, combining deep learning expertise with strong consulting and leadership capability.
Key Responsibilities- Leading and delivering learning and capability work streams across complex Financial Services engagements
- Designing and architecting enterprise-wide learning strategies, learning functions, and learning solutions
- Shaping and delivering end-to‑end learning programmes, from needs analysis through to design, development, deployment, and evaluation
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, providing robust challenge and insight
- Leading and manage project teams, learning designers, and third‑party vendors to ensure high‑quality delivery
- Driving organisational performance and behavioural change through learning initiatives and analytics
- Identifying and support business development opportunities, including proposal writing and client pursuits
- Coaching and develop junior consultants, fostering high performance and capability growth
- Contributing to the development of new learning offerings, products, and thought leadership
This role will suit an experienced Learning Consultant or Learning Transformation Manager with strong Financial Services exposure and a consulting background.
Essential experience- Strong understanding of adult learning theory and behavioural change principles
- Proven experience designing and delivering complex learning solutions within large organisations
- Consulting experience gained within a professional services firm, consultancy, or equivalent in‑house role
- Ability to translate learning strategy into practical, operational delivery
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders, including senior leaders and client teams
- Strong programme and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including high‑quality presentation development
- Experience designing learning across a range of formats (digital and non‑digital)
- Experience working within Financial Services (banking, insurance, asset/wealth management)
- Experience leading learning work streams within large‑scale transformation programmes
- Exposure to learning technology, learning analytics, and learning function design
- Relevant degree‑level education and/or professional qualifications
- Lead high‑profile learning and transformation programmes for major FS organisations
