General Manager – Leisure Centre

Permanent, Full Time
Salary:
Up to £40,000 per annum + Benefits
We are recruiting an experienced and driven General Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of a large, community-focused leisure centre in Oxford.
This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role within a live operational environment, offering full accountability for health & safety, compliance, service delivery, team leadership, and commercial performance against contractual KPIs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all aspects of health & safety, compliance, and safeguarding across the site
- Deliver operational performance in line with contractual requirements and KPIs
- Manage internal and external audits and quality assurance processes
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, working closely with technical teams
- Lead, motivate, and develop high‑performing operational teams
- Act as Manager on Duty, ensuring an exceptional customer experience at all times
- Proven experience leading teams within a leisure, facilities, or service‑led environment
- Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
- Customer‑focused, highly organised, and commercially aware
- Confident communicator with strong leadership and reporting skills
- First Aid at Work qualification (or willingness to obtain)
- This role may be subject to a DBS check in line with policy
