Programme Leader

The scope and complexity of Heathrow’s strategic programmes will cover a range of requirements. Working within the airport’s complex and sensitive environment, this role requires possession of strong leadership and high energy to inspire and lead the Programme team. We have 8 Programme Lead opportunities as part of the Heathrow Expansion Mega Programme.

The Southern Road Tunnel Lead is responsible for driving all programme management activities required to develop a coherent, integrated plan for the new Southern Road Tunnel and its associated infrastructure.

The Clear the Space Lead is responsible for coordinating Heathrow’s interface with all organisations impacted by the displacement of existing buildings to enable the Expansion Programme.

The Utility Diversions Lead is responsible for coordinating Heathrow’s interface with all statutory and commercial utilities organisations to develop a coherent, integrated delivery plan for the diversion, protection, and upgrade of utilities infrastructure surrounding and within the airport estate.

The Natural Environment Lead is responsible for shaping and coordinating all delivery‑planning activities related to biodiversity, habitats, landscape, waterways, and environmental protection measures across the Expansion footprint.

The Surface Access Rail Lead is responsible for all rail‑related programmes required to support the Expansion Programme.

The Airfield Infrastructure Lead is responsible for driving all programme management activity related to the development of new airfield infrastructure associated with the new third runway.

The Project Lead for Terminals is responsible for driving all programme management activity associated with the development of new terminals for Expansion including T5X West and T5X North.

The Systems Integration Lead is responsible for orchestrating the end‑to‑end integration of all systems required to support the Expansion Programme’s asset, operational, technical, digital, and infrastructure environments.

• Development of the programme management plan (how, who and when) which considers the capability and resource requirement of the programme.
• Defining the phasing and delivery method for the programme, with a particular drive for safe delivery, that supports our ambition to send ‘everyone home safe everyday
• To provide visible leadership in Programme Management, Health & Safety, Security and Sustainability. Also, promoting a positive safety culture aligned to our Heathrow values Establish and maintain a governance structure and plan for the programme.
• Effective senior stakeholder management, building strong relationships at all levels including the Exec.
• Engaging & working with the supply chain. Providing the integration with clear accountabilities to deliver the programme outcomes and holding each other to account.
• Building capability within the team and carrying out the cyclical line management responsibilities such as performance and talent management tracking team members’ development needs and ensuring that individual’s personal development plans are constructed, monitored and continually evaluated.
• Leading large scale and technically complex construction programmes through all stages to completion
