Property Management
The company I am working with is a property management agency which is a multi-award-winning, family-run property group.
They operate differently from the corporate chains—they are agile, fast-paced, and they get things done.
They are looking for aSecond-in-Commandto work directly alongside the Directors to drive the business forward.
The Reality of the Role - Please read before applying:Youmusthave worked in aCommercial Property Lettings / Management Agencypreviously. Candidates without commercial property management experience will not be considered.
This is a hands-on, client facing, front-of-house role, not a back-office admin position. They are looking for a "doer"—someone who can manage a complex portfolio, handle contractors, negotiate commercial leases, and lead a small team by example.
If you are looking for a role where you just delegate tasks to others, this is not for you.
If you are a problem-solver who thrives on autonomy, read on.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be the operational backbone of the branch, covering Commercial Management, Residential Management, and Lettings.
- Commercial Property Management (Crucial): managing rent & service charge collections, rent reviews, lease renewals, and tenant relationships for our commercial portfolio.
- Residential Management: Overseeing the portfolio, ensuring timely rent collection, and managing the end-to-end maintenance process.
- The "Fixer": You are the escalation point for tenants, landlords, and contractors. You don't just report problems; you solve them.
- Compliance & Admin: Ensuring all legal documents, deposits, and safety certificates are watertight.
- Commercial Lettings: Placing adverts, conducting viewings, and negotiating deals for commercial units.
- Team Leadership: Acting as Line Manager for the team—monitoring attendance, performance, and keeping the energy high.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in Property Management (Commercial experience is ESSENTIAL).
- Mindset: You must be highly organized but able to handle "organized chaos." You can switch focus instantly without losing your cool.
- Skills: Strong numeracy and Excel skills are non-negotiable. You must be comfortable with client accounting and legal terminology.
- Transport: You must have your own car and a clean licence.
- Character: Accountable, reliable, and thick-skinned. You take ownership of errors and fix them.
- The chance to run a business without corporate red tape.
- Direct access to decision-makers (no bureaucracy).
- Stability in a property management-focused role with the excitement of lettings negotiation.
