Capgemini Invent is a global leader in transformation consulting, supporting public‑sector organisations across Central Government, Health, Defence and Education. The role can be based in London, Manchester or Glasgow, with regular travel to client sites.
Your RoleAs part of a growing public‑sector practice you will support project teams, drive change and deliver measurable outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver excellent client service within project teams.
- Take responsibility for managing smaller projects or work streams, ensuring delivery against cost, time and quality, and effectively managing risks and issues.
- Mentor, support and develop junior colleagues, reviewing their work and ensuring high quality standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with client stakeholders.
- Support business growth through client network development and proactive identification of needs in a sell‑deliver model; contribute to proposals, bids and RFPs.
- Participate in practice development, knowledge management and collaboration within Capgemini communities.
- Contribute to proposals, RFPs, bids, client pitches and event hosting.
- Support internal initiatives such as campaigns, think‑tanks, whitepapers and practice development.
- Engage in learning and development activities, including training, certifications and skill building.
- Experience leading or supporting programmes and projects in the public sector, preferably from a major consulting firm.
- Experience working in a matrixed organisation and with public‑sector stakeholders.
- Proven intellectual strength – degree level education or equivalent.
- A broad consulting skillset, usually encompassing:
- Evidence of excellent public‑sector project delivery, using agile and waterfall methods.
- Leadership of projects or work streams, including risk and commercial management.
- Strong analytical capabilities and the application of frameworks to diagnose problems and design solutions.
- Understanding and practical experience of transformation design and delivery, including target operating models, business analysis, operational excellence, change management, business case development, benefits realisation, and portfolio/programme/project delivery.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, able to articulate complex concepts.
- High emotional intelligence – engaging and managing public‑sector stakeholders effectively.
- Commercial acumen – including scope, pricing, and performance management of projects or bids.
- Credible certifications are beneficial but not essential (e.g., APM, PROSCI, SCRUM, Better Business Case, Lean).
