Our client is a globally recognised heritage organisation responsible for one of the UK’s most significant historic and ceremonial sites. Operating within a Grade I listed UNESCO World Heritage environment, the organisation welcomes high visitor numbers and delivers nationally significant events. Maintaining operational resilience in this complex setting is critical.
The RoleReporting to the Director of Finance and Deputy Receiver General, the Emergency Planning Manager will lead the review and enhancement of emergency planning and business continuity arrangements.
You will act as the organisation’s subject matter expert, working closely with Security, Visitor Experience, Health and Safety and senior leadership teams, as well as external emergency services and resilience partners.
Key Responsibilities- Review and strengthen emergency planning procedures, including evacuation, lockdown and heritage asset salvage
- Develop and implement best practice business continuity frameworks
- Design and deliver emergency exercises, including multi agency simulations
- Maintain and update risk assessments and the Emergency Planning Risk Register
- Provide training and guidance to staff and volunteers
- Oversee emergency communications protocols and related equipment
- Represent the organisation at external resilience forums
- Business Continuity or Emergency Planning qualification such as ISO 22301 or BCI certification
- Proven experience in emergency planning within a complex environment
- Experience delivering exercises and resilience training
- Experience in historic or heritage environments desirable
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
