About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the People Team at Sunbelt Rentals UK as a HR Project Manager!
In this position, the HR Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering initiatives aimed at enhancing the People function within the organisation. The role requires comprehensive HR expertise coupled with advanced project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, establish timelines and milestones, allocate resources effectively, manage budgets, and achieve defined outcomes. Additionally, the individual will oversee the Company’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion strategy, which encompasses the facilitation and support of Employee Resource Groups and the development of new initiatives aligned with external trends.
Responsibilities also include managing programmes that promote employee wellbeing, focusing on both physical and mental health.
- Identifying improvement opportunities
- Formulating a project charter
- Designing a project plan
- Identifying required resources
- Ensuring there is required budgets
- Launching projects
- Managing projects
- Communicating progress across the board
- Ensuring result delivery on time, spec, and budget
- Closing out projects
Projects you would be responsible for will include:
Restructuring, TUPE, Employee Engagement, EDI, and Wellbeing.

To succeed as a HR Project Manager you will bring the following skill‑set and behaviours:
- CIPD Level 5 or 7 or similar preferable
- Recognised project management qualification or prepared to work towards e.g., P2 or other Project Management Tools
- Good computer literacy, including project management software
- Proven team leadership ability
- Ability to work under deadline pressure
- Excellent administrative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Conflict-resolution and problem‑solving ability
The role will predominantly be field based and you will be expected to hold a driving licence as frequent travel is required, which will involve overnight stays.
