Join Elexon as Governance Services Manager: lead high-quality governance delivery, guide boards, and partner with regulators to ensure transparent, compliant energy governance.
We’re looking for a Governance Services Manager (Grade 13) to join our Rules Management team at Elexon on a permanent basis. In this senior role, you’ll be accountable for the quality, integrity, and delivery of governance services operated by Elexon on behalf of regulators, government, and industry. Working closely with senior internal leaders and external stakeholders, you’ll help ensure governance bodies, committees, and boards operate effectively, transparently, and in line with legal and regulatory requirements across the GB electricity market.
What you’ll do:- Lead and manage governance service teams, ensuring high-quality, timely, and compliant delivery
- Assure the quality and accuracy of externally facing outputs, including agendas, minutes, decision papers, and reports
- Oversee the effective operation of governance bodies and committees, performing the Secretary role where required
- Ensure governance processes operate in line with approved frameworks, terms of reference, and regulatory obligations
- Act as a senior point of accountability to regulators, government, and sponsoring bodies for governance services
- Manage and prioritise stakeholder demand, balancing regulatory requirements with internal capacity
- Oversee the control, publication, and implementation of governance documentation
- Provide clear advice to senior leaders and Chairs on governance, process, and risk
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including the use of digital and innovative approaches
- Line manage direct reports and matrix manage subject matter experts across Elexon
- Significant experience delivering governance services within a regulated or complex environment
- Strong people leadership and matrix management capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including engagement at Executive and Board level
- Proven ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Experience managing competing priorities while maintaining quality and transparency
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Experience with in the energy, utilities, or regulated sectors (desirable)
- Salary – £75,000
