Estate & Campus Operations Manager
The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama
Swiss Cottage, North London
£54,894 - £61,090 + Excellent Benefits
You've mastered estate operations. Ready to help shape the future of a world‑class creative campus? You've built a reputation as someone who gets things done. The person people trust to solve problems, lead teams and keep complex estates running smoothly. Maybe you're ready for something bigger. Not necessarily a Director role today, but an opportunity that gives you greater exposure to estate strategy, campus development and capital projects while continuing to lead from the front.
That's exactly what Central offers.
The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama is one of the world’s leading performing arts conservatoires and a member of the University of London. Working directly alongside the Director of Estate Developments & Operations, you'll gain valuable exposure to the strategic side of estates leadership while playing a key role in the day‑to‑day operation of a unique and highly specialised campus.
Instead of another office block or traditional education estate, you'll support theatres, rehearsal studios, production workshops and performance spaces where creativity comes to life every day.
- Work directly alongside an experienced Director and gain exposure to strategic estate planning and development.
- Build the experience that could position you for future Head of Estates or Director‑level opportunities.
- Enjoy the variety of supporting theatres, studios, workshops and performance spaces rather than another conventional estate.
- Influence campus improvements, sustainability initiatives and capital projects.
- Join an organisation where your work directly supports creativity, performance, education and student success.
- Enjoy 35 days annual leave on top of bank holidays, a Local Government Pension Scheme with a 14.8% employer contribution, life assurance, professional development opportunities, wellbeing support, travel benefits and free access to student productions.
You’ll lead the day‑to‑day operation of the estate, ensuring buildings, facilities and infrastructure remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose. Working closely with colleagues across the School, you’ll oversee maintenance programmes, contractor performance, health and safety, compliance, cleaning, security and operational service delivery. You’ll also support estate improvement projects, sustainability initiatives and capital developments while contributing to the wider strategic direction of the campus.
Whatyou’ll bring
You’ll already have experience within Estates, Facilities Management, Campus Operations or a similar environment. You’ll be comfortable managing contractors, compliance requirements, budgets and operational teams, while building strong relationships and delivering high standards across a complex organisation. Most importantly, you’ll be looking for an opportunity to broaden your experience and play a bigger role in shaping the future of an estate.
