We are delighted to be partnering with Cranstoun on their search for an Interim Director of Operations!
Cranstoun is an ambitious national charity with a clear and urgent mission: to help people in need rebuild their lives. Founded in 1969, they have spent nearly six decades supporting people affected by drugs and alcohol, domestic abuse, homelessness, and criminal justice. Today, they work with more than 45,000 people every year, and their services change, and save, lives.
Having completed a successful five-year strategy that saw significant growth in both reach and impact, Cranstoun is now entering a new phase. The focus is on building the organisational maturity, governance strength, and operational resilience needed to sustain and protect that growth for the long term.
THE ROLEThey are seeking an Interim Director of Operations to join Cranstoun at a defining moment in its development. Having grown rapidly in scale and complexity, the organisation is now investing in the structures, accountability, and oversight needed to ensure every one of its services is safe, consistent, and high-performing.
The Interim Director of Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership across Cranstoun's national portfolio of commissioned services, spanning substance use, domestic abuse, homelessness, criminal justice, and support for children and young people. The role holder will be responsible for strengthening operational governance, establishing clearer management accountability, improving safeguarding oversight, and supporting the organisation's transition towards a more resilient and sustainable operating model.
You will be leading at the heart of Cranstoun's Senior Leadership Team across a 12-month interim period, working across operational delivery, performance management, risk, and organisational development. You will bring significant senior operational leadership experience from complex, multi-site environments serving vulnerable or high-risk groups, with the credibility and presence to lead through a period of meaningful organisational change calmly, visibly, and with integrity.
