Senior Product and Proposition Manager

Purpose of the role

To manage and develop existing and new products and/or services; and where applicable, ownership of related customer and colleague journeys. Develop the product strategy, drive change through Barclays execution teams, make key decisions in the product lifecycle and own associated outcomes for customers, colleagues and the bank, achieved through appropriate service level agreements, regulatory compliance, risk management and controls.

• Develop customer level strategies and solutions tailored to customers’ needs.
• Serve as subject matter expert in the applicable Product/Proposition team and confidently guide and advise stakeholders at all levels in the Bank on the application of existing and new products/propositions and related journeys.
• Develop product propositions, define priorities for delivering outcomes, and lead execution of the priorities.
• Develop different commercial and business models through strong understanding of the financial drivers of the P&L for the relevant segment/proposition/journey.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, legal compliance and potential risks associated with the development and launch of new product.
• Monitor market trends and analyse feedback from internal employees and target customers through prototypes, user testing sessions, and beta programs to refine product/process before launch.
• Manage comprehensive launch plans and technical deployments for products, establishing rollout timelines, marketing strategies, training initiatives and communication channels to promote new product launch effectively.
• Monitor key metrics such as adoption rates, usage patterns, customer satisfaction (including complaints) and revenue generation to assess product performance against set goals.

Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalated breaches of policies/procedures.

If managing a team, define jobs and responsibilities, plan for the department’s future needs and operations, counsel employees on performance, contribute to employee pay decisions/changes, and lead a number of specialists to influence departmental operations while balancing short and long term goals and ensuring budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

For an individual contributor: act as subject matter expert within own discipline, guide technical direction, lead collaborative, multi-year assignments, train, guide and coach less experienced specialists, and provide information affecting long‑term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions.

Advising key stakeholders, managing and mitigating risks, demonstrating leadership and accountability for risk and controls, collaborating with other areas of work for business aligned support, creating solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, and building trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Accountable for shaping and delivering market‑defining and segment aligned propositions across Barclays UK. Lead end‑to‑end proposition strategy, own and/or influence customer and colleague journeys, and drive commercial, customer and regulatory outcomes at scale.

Work horizontally across the organisation to manage the full portfolio of propositions, providing enterprise‑wide leadership to ensure alignment and consistency.

Influence senior stakeholders across complex organisations and drive cohesion so that all propositions across every customer segment deliver as a unified, customer‑focused strategy.

• End‑to‑end product/proposition management experience, including strategy development, lifecycle ownership, and outcome delivery.
