The project:

Mace is providing support in the global asset management strategy for a multinational pharmaceutical client based in Germany. We have enjoyed constant growth in Germany since establishing a dedicated Frankfurt office in 2003.

Working in partnership with local developers and multinational corporations, our German team specialises in project management, construction and facilities management, as well as preconstruction and technical due diligence.

Working closely with the client’s team, responsible for ensuring that a large building project are completed safely, within an agreed timeframe and budget. Managing the practical side of every stage of the build, you'll work closely with architects, surveyors and other building professionals in planning and delivery.

You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Establishing key relationships with the client and other key stakeholders.
  • Setting up regular and clear lines of communication to address issues, which may arise.
  • Chairing weekly progress meetings and report on the weekly project and commercial progress.
  • Managing the contractor(s) based on site.
  • Managing and developing the team to ensure objectives are met and staff are supported and motivated. Assessing resources available on a regular basis and bring in additional support/specialist expertise.
  • Establishing and monitoring appropriate project operating procedures and systems, specifically ensuring management plan is being followed and adhered to.
  • Ensuring safe project working practices are adhered to for all site personnel.
  • Ensuring subject matter experts and users are up to date and engaged during the project lifecycle.
  • Ensuring close-out and practical completion schedules are completed and issued.
  • Representing the company in a presentable and professional manner.
  • Ensuring Mace management system is always followed.
  • Providing financial reports on time (forecasts, budgets, income, fees etc.).
You’ll need to have
  • Relevant degree qualification and a member of a professional institute.
  • Previous working experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals projects.
  • Understanding of the built environment and the construction lifecycle.
  • Understanding of the German HOAI phases and VOB contract procedures.
  • Successful track record of managing clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of the German legal framework, including health and safety regulations, contract law (BGB, VOB), environment and building regulations.
  • Expert in key project processes such as design principles and management, construction processes, procurement and tendering.
  • Digitally savvy, can build relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams.
