THE POSITION

To manage the operational delivery across a number of events in the departments’ portfolio and provide an operational support service to exhibitors and internal show teams as required and specified by the Head of Operations. All projects must be managed to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, achievement of deadlines, compliance with Health & Safety regulations and strict budget control.

  • Operations Management experience within the exhibition industry.

  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal, and good relationship building skills.
  • Adaptable, creative & innovative particularly in relation to problem solving.

  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office Package and ability to learn bespoke database and accounts packages.
THE ROLE
  • Prepare operations budget and forecasts in conjunction with Head of Operations and Event Director.
  • Monitor and control costs keeping the budget tracker and PO System up to date.
  • Ensure that Event Health & Safety is at the forefront of everything we do.
  • Always work within the requirement of the e‑Guide and venue technical regulations.
  • Compile the Event H&S file including writing the Event Risk Assessment and other relevant documentation.
  • Review and produce additional documentation for exhibitors as required.
  • Manage all on‑site Health and Safety processes.
  • Communication, both written and verbal, with exhibitors, contractors, show teams & venues.
  • Negotiate and place contracts for official contractors in conjunction with Head of Operations.
  • Monitor performance of appointed contractors within negotiated agreements.
  • Write Design Briefs to ensure feature objectives, budgets, service levels and timescales adhere to show requirements.
  • Manage the floorplan and undertake expansion and consolidation, as necessary to ensure the best yield.
  • Oversee the production and distribution of the Exhibitor Manual.
  • Always consider the most sustainable options for events.
  • Carry out necessary administration tasks as required.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES
  • Regular 1‑to‑1 meetings with Line manager.
  • Ensuring budget tracker is kept up to date.
  • Adhering to the budget at all times.
  • PO’s are entered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Regular performance and development reviews.
  • Work is completed to given deadlines.
  • Operational Planners / Critical Paths are kept updated to ensure targets for progression throughout show cycle is demonstrated accurately.
