Position: Director of Education and the GOSH Learning Academy
Location: Greater London

Job Overview

Director of Education for the Learning Academy at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. A senior leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of education, training and development across GOSH and beyond. The position will lead the Learning Academy’s development, shaping a high‑quality education, training, and development portfolio that supports staff, strengthens specialist paediatric capability across the NHS, and extends GOSH’s influence through national and international partnerships.

Duties

Provide visible, credible and strategic leadership for the Learning Academy, ensuring its offerings are ambitious, financially sustainable and aligned with the Trust’s strategic priorities. Work closely with clinical, academic and corporate colleagues to develop innovative and inclusive learning approaches, embed robust educational governance, strengthen evaluation and impact, and harness digital and technology‑enhanced learning. Build and sustain strong relationships with universities, professional bodies, commercial and charitable partners, and other healthcare organisations.

As an accomplished senior leader with a strong track record in shaping and delivering strategic education, workforce development, or organisational learning agendas, you will bring credibility, influence, and the ability to translate vision into delivery. You will lead multi‑disciplinary teams, develop high‑performing cultures, drive innovation, improvement, and change, and maintain a clear focus on quality, inclusion and impact. You will help position GOSH as a leader in paediatric learning nationally and internationally.
