Director - Public Affairs

An established strategic communications consultancy is looking to appoint a Director to support its continued growth, leading client work, new business and a high-performing team within its public affairs practice.

The has an established reputation for advising organisations on complex political, policy and reputational issues. Working closely with Westminster and Whitehall stakeholders, it supports clients across a range of sectors on some of the UK's most significant policy challenges.

Following sustained growth and increasing demand, the consultancy is investing further in its public affairs offering, creating a new Director position as part of its long-term expansion.

As Director, you will combine senior client leadership with commercial responsibility. This is a broad role with significant influence across the business, including:

• Leading new business activity from origination through to pitch and conversion.
• Providing senior strategic counsel on public affairs and communications programmes.
• Contributing to operational management, including resourcing and P&L responsibilities.
• Line managing a team of approximately 4–5.
• Working closely with the wider senior leadership team to support the continued growth of the practice.

The successful Director will have worked at a senior level in a public affairs agency, with the commercial skills to develop new client relationships and grow accounts. You'll ideally bring:

• Experience leading successful new business and pitching activity.
• Well-developed networks across Westminster and Whitehall.
• Sector expertise in technology, energy, infrastructure or higher education.
• Strong strategic thinking and the ability to advise senior clients with confidence.
• Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
• The ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced consultancy environment.

• Circa £100,000, with flexibility for an exceptional Director.
