Location: Wakefield

Contract: Full time, permanent

Hours: 38.75 hours per week, Standard hours between 8am and 6pm, plus out-of-hours escalation management (paid when on-call)

Your new role

What you’ll do:

As Hard Services Manager, youwill oversee and manage the maintenance, repair, small works, and compliance function for our Local Authority client. The Hard FM service consists of delivery of a planned and reactive maintenance service in accordance with key performance indicators and quality standards.

The Hard Services Manager will have line management responsibility for a multi disciplined direct delivery team and responsibility for managing delivery through specialist subcontractors.

In delivering your role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • To ensure that the Facilities are maintained to the levels specified in the Performance Standards of the Project Agreement and that all Buildings & Asset Maintenance KPI’s are achieved.
  • To ensure that the client estate remains statutorily compliant through effective delivery of service.
  • To work closely with the planning team to ensure effective planning of PPM work for the maintenance team and sub-contractors using the FM CAFM system, and ensure the system is kept up to date and is accurate.
  • To closely liaise with the client to ensure that all works delivered are to the required standard, that there are no disruptions to client operations and where appropriate agree remedial works.
  • To ensure optimum delivery of responsive and cyclical maintenance work is carried out on time and efficiently to meet defined performance expectations.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure that RFM obtain the best prices for materials and parts, and to market test suppliers on a regular basis to ensure best value.
  • Where required, provide direction and guidance to review plant faults, identify and implement an appropriate resolution.
  • Act as the engineering lead for their area, ensuring that all maintained assets have compliant evidence of completion.
  • Liaise with specialist sub-contractors to ensure their service is delivered on time, to the required quality and to the appropriate cost. Ensuring a quality service is received and any defects are rectified satisfactorily

About you

  • Relevant trade qualification (mechanical or electrical).
  • Experience managing a multi-disciplined hard FM team.
  • Able to demonstrate awareness of statutory requirements for compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to plan and mobilise reliable services and the ability to manage a team.
  • Experience of operating effective IT systems, particularly CAFM.
  • Budget management, identifying trends and driving efficiency with cost effective practices.

The successful candidate will require a an Enhanced DBS with Child Barred List check prior to starting in the role.
