Position: Associate Director / Business Lead - Building Services (MEP)
Our client, a leading consultancy in the building services sector, is currently seeking an experienced Associate Director / Business Lead - Building Services (MEP) to join their expanding team. This role presents a unique opportunity for a commercially minded, client-facing leader to work directly alongside the Managing Director and play a pivotal role in business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and strengthen relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and key industry stakeholders
Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities
Support business development activities, networking, and growth initiatives
Work alongside the Managing Director on business strategy and future growth plans
Provide leadership and oversight across projects and client accounts
Support fee proposals, commercial negotiations, and resource planning
Help recruit, mentor, and develop future team members
Act as a senior representative of the business within the marketplace
Provide technical leadership and credibility across MEP and multidisciplinary projects
Take increasing ownership of operational performance and business outcomes

Job Requirements:

You are likely to come from a Building Services, MEP, Engineering Consultancy, or Construction Consultancy background and have progressed beyond purely technical responsibilities.
You will ideally possess:

A strong industry network and relationship-building capability
Proven experience in client-facing and business development activities
Commercial awareness and strong business acumen
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Experience winning work, developing accounts, or contributing to company growth
The ability to operate independently and make sound decisions
A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset
Ambition to progress into a broader leadership position
A Mechanical or MEP background would be advantageous but is not essential. The ability to build trust, develop relationships and contribute to business growth is more important.
