Strategic Lead – Revenues and Benefits

My London based Local Authority is looking to recruit a Strategic Lead for Revenues and Benefits for a period of 12 months. This is a senior leadership role with a strong focus on the Collection Fund, policy development and service transformation. The successful candidate will act as the Council's lead expert on Revenues and Benefits legislation, advising senior leadership and driving performance, compliance and financial stability across a large and complex service.

You will also lead service improvement activity and undertake a comprehensive review of the Collections and Welfare operating model to determine the most effective long-term structure, governance arrangements and resource requirements for the service.

As Strategic Lead for Revenues and Benefits you will also be responsible for leading service improvement and developing a transformation plan focused on performance management, service efficiency, systems optimisation, customer complaints handling, innovation and operational resilience.

To be considered for the role you will need to be an experienced head of service with a strong background in leading revenues and benefits teams in a large and complex local government setting.

The role will initially be offered on a 12 month fixed term basis, and will require 2 to 3 days office presence each week. The salary range is circa £95,000 to £105,000.
