Job Description & How to Apply Below

Ever tried building one training programme that has to work a different way in every branch it touches?

That's the challenge at the heart of this role. Lomond is one of the UK's largest and fastest-growing property services groups, expanding through acquisition across estate agency, lettings and property management. As Learning & Development Director, you'll own the Group's learning strategy end to end, reporting to the Chief People Officer and partnering closely with the Group People Director. You'll be based in London, or within a two-hour commute of it, with one to two days a week at our St Mary's Axe Head Office and regular travel across the branch network, from the north of Scotland to the south coast.

Salary is competitive and set at Director level, subject to Group benchmarking.

Lomond isn't a high-street brand. Our customers deal with the local brands they know and trust, not "Lomond" itself, so this isn't about imposing one training model on everyone. It's about building a centralised, professional L&D infrastructure that's genuinely tailored by region and by brand, so training always feels locally relevant rather than centrally imposed.

What you'll be doing
  • Own and evolve Lomond's Group-wide L&D strategy, aligned to commercial priorities and growth plans
  • Build and lead a national team of trainers and facilitators, delivering consistently close to every branch
  • Own the L&D budget, prioritising spend and demonstrating return on investment
  • Build visible relationships with Regional CROs and Managing Directors, shaping L&D around commercial reality on the ground
  • Design a Group-wide curriculum for sales negotiators, lettings negotiators and property managers, including front-line manager training
  • Build career and accreditation pathways supporting progression from negotiator through to branch and regional management
  • Design and embed a leadership development framework, including critical conversations training for managers
  • Lead L&D integration for newly acquired businesses, harmonising onboarding and core training across the Group
  • Own learning analytics and reporting, demonstrating the commercial impact of L&D to the Executive team
  • Own the Group's learning technology (LMS) strategy, and keep all regulated and compliance training current and audit-ready
What you'll need

We're not just looking for someone who fits our team; we want to be a good fit for you too! We're looking for individuals with qualities such as:

  • Senior L&D leadership experience, ideally in a multi-site, retail, property or service-led business
  • A proven track record designing and scaling sales, negotiation or front-line service training
  • Experience building leadership development and management capability programmes
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, acquisitive, multi-brand environment
  • CIPD or equivalent L&D/coaching qualification desirable, with experience of LMS implementation
Here's what you can look forward to

At Lomond Group, we believe in taking care of our people. That's why we offer some amazing perks and benefits through our engagement platform, LOMONDlife, such as:

Our process starts with a screening call with our TA team, followed by an initial interview with our Group People Director, then a final in-person interview with the Group People Director and Chief People Officer.
