The UK is taking the G20 Presidency in 2027 and G7 Presidency in 2028, offering a rare and exciting opportunity to be at the heart of a major international economic fora.

The Finance Track is part of the presidencies co-chaired by the Chancellor and Governor of the Bank of England. HM Treasury and the Bank jointly set the agenda each year. They deliver consensus on shared priorities and host most meetings.

To support this, we are standing up a new joint delivery unit across HM Treasury and the Bank of England.

This team will lead on the delivery of all in-person and virtual meetings, project management, secretariat, communications, governance, finance and contracting.

About the Job

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Coordinate delivery activity across key work streams for the Finance Track of the UK’s G20 Presidency, including events production, venue coordination, delegate liaison, logistics and wider programme management.
  • Maintain and use programme trackers, action logs and delivery plans to monitor landmarks, risks and dependencies, advancing issues clearly when decisions are needed.
  • Support the planning and delivery of meetings and events, working with colleagues, suppliers and delivery partners to ensure arrangements are accurate, timely and aligned with programme priorities.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues and external partners, including venue leads, production suppliers and contractors, to support effective delivery and resolve practical issues at pace.
  • Support engagement with delegations from other G20 members by coordinating practical information and processes covering accommodation, transport, visas, accreditation and other delegate requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across the delivery unit by identifying practical ways to strengthen processes, improve information flows and support a professional service to ministers, senior officials and partners.

This role offers the opportunity to play a hands-on part in delivering a high-profile and fast-paced programme in the run up to and during the UK’s G20 Presidency. It will suit someone who can bring structure to sophisticated work, use good judgement to resolve delivery issues, and coordinate effectively across teams, suppliers and stakeholders. Responsibilities will change over the lifecycle of the project, and all team members will be encouraged to work flexibly across work streams as required.
