Permanent Industry: M&EAbout the Client SSA Recruitment are currently working with a leading construction contractor delivering major M&E projects across London and the South East. With a strong reputation for technical delivery, collaboration and client satisfaction, they continue to secure major projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint new commercial manager to lead their commercial team.

About the Role Duties May Include:
Lead the full commercial management of projects from inception through to completion.

Administer JCT contracts, ensuring robust understanding and management of contractual risk.

Identify, assess, and mitigate building and commercial risks, particularly within complex projects.

Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, KPIs, performance standards, and commercial levers.

Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering, negotiation, and valuation processes.

Drive cost control, value engineering, and commercial optimisation initiatives.

Conduct market analysis, supplier engagement, and benchmarking to support category and project strategies.

Build and maintain strong supplier and internal stakeholder relationships to promote effective contract management.

Ensure financial transparency through accurate forecasting, reporting, and cost tracking.

Produce commercial reports and contribute commercial insight for board papers.

Deliver high‑quality commercial outputs on time and to required standards.

Manage competing priorities while maintaining strong commercial governance.

Manage project and procurement data within e‑sourcing and commercial systems, supporting improved data quality and usage.

Communicate clearly and effectively to support policy, process, and commercial practice changes.

Requirements:

Extensive and proven commercial experience within the M&E sector

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar

Proven experience in commercial and contractual management including risk, change of control, reporting, forecasting, etc Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to set the standard and lead by example.

Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, working collaboratively across teams, including project professionals, business partners, and clients.

Excellent IT Skills Valid CSCSRICS or CIOB membership (desired but not essential)
