As a Project Manager at Islington Council, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring Islington residents get the best care and support. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small team that is shaping the future of social care in Islington.

We are looking for an experienced project manager who can confidently work with stakeholders across the Council and externally to coordinate the expiry of two care home-related contracts and the transition to a new service model. You will be responsible for successfully delivering high-profile projects via robust governance and reporting. You will work closely with commissioners to ensure that future services meet the needs of our residents.

Key attributes required:

• An interest in working within social care and ensuring great outcomes for residents.
• Experience of managing high-profile projects to delivery.
• Great verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisation and time management, with ability to develop a range of project management resources

The Age Well team, in Health and Social Care, is responsible for commissioning statutory services that enable people to live and age well within the community and in care settings. We are guided by Islington’s Adult Social Care Vision: that all residents have fair and equal access to care and support that enables them to live healthy, fulfilling, and independent lives.

Our day-to-day work requires partnering with services across the Council. We also work closely with Islington’s care providers, health services, and the voluntary and community sector to shape our care services in line with the Council’s values. We ensure every pound spent delivers maximum value for the borough. Importantly, all our work is centred on what matters most to residents and we pride ourselves on prioritising co-production with residents during the development of any services.
