About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Logistics Manager to oversee regional operations in the East London area. This hybrid role requires a leader adept at managing complex supply chains, optimizing transportation networks, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods across multiple locations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing logistics strategies, managing carrier relationships, and leading a team of logistics professionals to achieve operational excellence and cost efficiencies.

This is a key leadership position contributing significantly to the company's supply chain performance in the Eastern Cape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive logistics strategies to support regional business objectives.
  • Manage and optimize all aspects of regional transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the regional logistics team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee inventory management and control processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor key logistics KPIs, analyze performance data, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing regional logistics operations and optimizing supply chain costs.
  • Strong understanding of transportation modes, warehousing, inventory management, and international trade regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
