We are currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop Manager to join a leading passenger transport operator based in East London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Workshop Manager, Engineering Manager, Fleet Manager, Engineering Supervisor or Depot Engineering Manager looking to take the next step within a large, modern commercial vehicle operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Engineering Manager with the day-to-day management of the workshop.
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of engineers, coach builders, apprentices and support staff.
- Ensure maximum vehicle availability while maintaining high engineering standards.
- Promote a strong Health & Safety culture across the workshop.
- Ensure compliance with DVSA, TfL and Department for Transport standards.
- Oversee workshop equipment, facilities and engineering operations.
- Drive continuous improvement across workshop performance and productivity.
- Support operational planning and engineering performance.
About You
- Previous experience in a Workshop Manager, Engineering Manager, Fleet Manager, Engineering Supervisor or similar leadership role.
- Strong background within commercial vehicles, HGV, PSV, bus, coach or heavy vehicle maintenance.
- Previous hands‑on engineering or technician experience.
- Excellent technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety, quality and compliance standards.
- Strong leadership, communication and people management skills.
- PSV experience would be advantageous, although candidates from HGV or other heavy vehicle backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
