Location: Greater London
EGI has been placing contractors alongside its perm business for several years. There are four consultants on the desk, live revenue, and a client base in data centres, civils and power that already trusts the firm on perm and wants more.
What's missing is a leader whose sole focus is running that division and growing it.
The mandate is £5M NFI from contract over 36 months. It's an ambitious number, and it's set against an established team, warm accounts and three offices rather than a standing start.
What the role ownsThe division. Four people today, with the budget and mandate to hire progressively as the numbers support it. You decide the shape of the team.
Three markets. Data Centre Infrastructure, Civil Infrastructure, and Power & Energy Infrastructure. EGI has an existing client base and growing contract spend in all three. No cold-starting a vertical.
The process layer. Rate cards, margin discipline, contractor onboarding and care, compliance across the jurisdictions EGI operates in, terms, and how the desk runs day to day. EOR and contractor management capability already sits in-house, so the infrastructure is there. The operating rhythm on top of it is yours to build.
Account growth. Much of the opportunity is conversion. Perm clients who should be giving EGI contract work, and contract clients who should be giving EGI perm. That means working alongside the perm leads, including the Mission Critical team in Austin, rather than competing with them.
Personal billings. Expect to be hands-on in the first stretch while the team is built out. The balance shifts toward leadership as it scales.
What we're looking for:- You've run a contract desk that made real money. You were a strong biller before you were a manager.
- You've built a team, not just inherited one. You know how to hire, train and retain contract consultants.
- You know one or more of these markets properly. Data centres, construction, civils, energy, or industrial. Enough to hold a credible conversation with a client's delivery director.
- You've placed internationally. EGI works across the UK, Europe, the US and the Middle East, so the compliance and payroll reality of that is familiar territory.
- You want ownership. This is a P&L, not a desk with a bigger title.
Nice to have: experience taking a contract book from single-digit to eight-figure revenue, or running a division inside a business that was previously perm-led.
What EGI offers:- A direct reporting line to the CEO. No layers, no committee.
- An existing team, existing clients and existing revenue to build on.
- Base salary plus commission, with performance-linked upside tied to divisional profit. Structure is open to discussion for the right person.
- Offices in London, Austin and Dubai, with clients across all three regions.
- Real autonomy over how the division is built.
