Full Time, including participation in an out-of-hours rota About the Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Supervisor to join a leading organisation within the housing and property maintenance sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled and experienced supervisor to take responsibility for overseeing a team of trade operatives and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality repairs and maintenance services across a portfolio of residential properties.

You will play a key role in coordinating day-to-day operations, supervising operatives and subcontractors, monitoring quality and performance, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual requirements.

The successful candidate will act as an important link between residents, operatives, contractors, planning teams and senior management, ensuring excellent customer service and effective communication throughout the repair and maintenance process.

Key Responsibilities Supervise and support a team of skilled trade operatives, including plumbers, carpenters, wet trades and other maintenance professionals.

Coordinate daily workloads and work schedules in conjunction with planning teams.

Monitor the progress and completion of responsive, planned and complex repair and maintenance works.

Carry out pre-inspections, work-in-progress inspections and post-inspections to ensure quality, compliance and right-first-time delivery.

Provide technical advice, guidance and support to operatives, contractors, planning teams and customer service colleagues.

Monitor the performance of operatives and subcontractors against agreed KPIs, SLAs and organisational standards.

Identify and address underperformance, taking appropriate action where required.

Ensure all works are completed in accordance with health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.

Conduct and review risk assessments where necessary.

Manage resources effectively, including labour, vehicles, tools, equipment and materials, while minimising unnecessary expenditure and wastage.

Monitor and control costs, obtaining the appropriate approval for expenditure and identifying opportunities for cost-effective service delivery.

Maintain accurate records and produce performance reports as required.

Mentor and develop operatives and trainees, identifying training and development requirements through regular one-to-ones and performance reviews.

Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, responding professionally and promptly to concerns and complaints.

Work closely with management teams to support the development of maintenance strategies, budgets and delivery programmes.

Manage contractors effectively, ensuring compliance with required standards, SLAs, KPIs, health and safety requirements and customer service expectations.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational performance, quality and customer satisfaction.

Participate in an out-of-hours repairs and maintenance rota as required.

Travel to other locations when required to support operational teams and service delivery.

About You We are looking for an experienced Technical Supervisor / Maintenance Supervisor / Repairs Supervisor with a strong background in property maintenance and the supervision of directly employed tradespeople.

You will ideally have:

Proven experience supervising a direct labour force within social housing, property maintenance, facilities management or a similar environment.

A relevant trade qualification, with practical experience within a suitable workstream such as plumbing, carpentry, responsive repairs, damp and mould, voids, planned works or complex repairs.

Strong knowledge of building construction, repairs and maintenance.

Experience managing subcontractors and monitoring performance against SLAs and KPIs.A strong understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple workloads.

Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence dealing with residents, contractors, operatives and internal stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

A full UK driving licence.
