Chief of Staff; To CEO

Requirements

• 4+ years' experience including time in a startup or scaleup, most likely as a Chief of Staff or Founders Associate with exposure to Biz Ops or People Ops
• (Desirable) A background in strategy consulting, investment banking or private equity before the startup
• You carry people with you: high energy, high EQ, comfortable in front of a room, and you've rallied a team through something hard
• (Desirable) Strong academics
• You've managed external relationships day to day, partners or clients, and can name one you grew and one you wound down
• You've run something across teams: a planning or goal cycle, a company-wide people process, or a deadline-bound process for a demanding external audience (a dataroom, audit, tender or board pack)
• You care how a company feels to work in: you've had a hand in hiring, reviews, comp or culture, and can say what changed because of it
• You get senior people to deliver: you've held people more senior than you to a deadline without needing the authority to do it
• You write and build well: internal comms that people actually read, and Excel and PowerPoint that go straight to a board or investor
• You build with AI, not just use it: agents, automations or workflows you've shipped, and you can show them
• London based, four days a week in our Holborn office

• Own partnerships, one of our main distribution channels: run the relationships with existing partners such as British Gas and Uswitch, launch new products through them, and build the pipeline of new partners from first conversation to first installs
• Own the operating cadence: goals and quarterly planning across departments, the leadership meeting rhythm, Team Days and All Hands, the weekly company roundup and the board pack timetable
• Build a high-performance culture with Alick: structured hiring, the review cycle and comp bands, onboarding, manager development, the culture survey, and the systems underneath. We'll bring in a Talent Lead and in time a Head of People, so you build it and hand it over
• Take on special projects and fires: one or two strategic work streams at a time, carried to a decision or a shipped outcome, including the fundraise, plus first call on anything urgent that has no owner
• Build the machine with Alick: the AI agents and automations that take repeating work out of the company, so a team of 100 runs like a much bigger one
