You will play a pivotal role in establishing the home's culture, recruiting and developing the team, and securing OFSTED registration while delivering outstanding outcomes for vulnerable young people.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, development, and day-to-day operation of the home. You will create a positive and supportive environment where children can feel safe, valued, and empowered to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the setup, development, and successful opening of the home.
  • Recruit, manage, and inspire a high-performing residential care team.
  • Ensure compliance with OFSTED regulations and Children's Homes Standards.
  • Deliver exceptional, trauma-informed care and support.
  • Promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, professionals, families, and external agencies.
  • Foster a culture of psychological safety, empathy, and professional excellence.
  • Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
About You

We're looking for a passionate and experienced leader who is committed to improving the lives of children and young people.

Essential Requirements
  • Previous management experience within children's residential care.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Experience supporting children at risk of exploitation, abuse, and complex trauma.
  • Proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding OFSTED outcomes in leadership positions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding, children's legislation, and regulatory requirements.
What’s on Offer?
  • Competitive salary with flexibility for outstanding candidates.
  • £700 on-call allowance (1 in 4 weeks).
  • Over 7 weeks' annual leave, with the option to buy or sell leave.
  • Additional annual wellbeing day.
  • Excellent training and career development opportunities.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies.
  • Pension contribution and life assurance.
  • Blue Light Card eligibility and access to thousands of retail discounts.
