Interim Team Manager

Temporary Contract | 3-6 Months | ASAP Start

London | Field Based (4 Days per Week)

£19.23 - £20.88 per hour

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Interim Team Manager to join a well-established national charity on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a hands-on management role supporting a face-to-face fundraising team across multiple London locations. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time in the field, providing visible leadership, coaching and support to frontline staff who act as ambassadors for the charity.

This role would suit an experienced people manager who enjoys leading customer-facing teams, developing individuals and ensuring high standards of professionalism and supporter engagement are maintained.

The Role
  • Spend approximately 3-4 days per week visiting teams across London sites and 1 day undertaking administrative duties
  • Lead, motivate and support a field-based face-to-face fundraising team
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and performance support to ensure team members are successful in their roles
  • Handle challenging situations confidently and appropriately, taking action when needed
  • Ensure policies, processes and governance requirements are followed consistently
  • Promote a positive and supportive team culture
  • Represent the organisation's values and ensure the team delivers a positive experience to supporters
About You
  • Proven experience managing and developing teams within a customer-facing environment
  • Strong people management, coaching and leadership skills
  • Comfortable working across multiple locations and travelling throughout London on a regular basis
  • Experience dealing with performance, wellbeing and employee relations matters
  • Able to follow and implement policies, procedures and governance requirements
  • Confident making decisions and addressing challenging situations professionally

Previous experience within face-to-face fundraising would be beneficial but is not essential. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have successfully led frontline, customer service, membership, retail, outreach or other field-based teams.
