Street Works Manager Wembley, London (Hybrid Working) £27.81 per hour PAYE / £36.63 per hour Umbrella Minimum 3 Month Temporary Contract Full Time We are currently recruiting for an experienced Street Works Manager on behalf of a busy London local authority. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and manage the Council's statutory duties under the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and Traffic Management Act (TMA), ensuring the effective coordination and regulation of street works activities across the borough.

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Street Works function, ensuring compliance with NRSWA and TMA legislation. Coordinate street works, highway works and utility activities to minimise disruption and congestion across the network. Manage relationships with utility companies, contractors, emergency services and neighbouring authorities. Oversee inspections of street works and reinstatements, ensuring compliance with permit conditions and required standards. Monitor and manage permits, charges, Section 74 overrun charges and associated financial processes.

Produce performance reports, analyse service data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Represent the Council at stakeholder meetings and provide expert technical advice on street works matters. Lead and develop a small team, driving high performance and effective service delivery. Essential Requirements Degree, HNC or equivalent relevant experience. NRSWA Supervisor Accreditation. Significant experience managing street works within a local authority, consultancy or similar environment.

Detailed working knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) and Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA). Experience managing performance indicators and service delivery. Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills. Experience leading and motivating staff. Good working knowledge of highways maintenance and highways legislation. What's on Offer?
