We have two public sites in the Midlands and London and a stored collection purpose is to share the RAF story - past, present and future - using the stories of its people and our collections to engage, inform and inspire.
What We Are Looking For Are you an experienced estates or facilities professional looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a nationally significant cultural institution? The Royal Air Force Museum is looking for a proactive Estates Manager (London) to help ensure our buildings, infrastructure and facilities remain safe, compliant, sustainable and fit for the future.
Reporting to the Head of Estates, you will play a key role in ensuring the Museum's London estate remains safe, compliant, sustainable and well maintained. Responsible for our buildings, infrastructure, building services and facilities, you will lead a small team and oversee contractors to deliver maintenance, statutory compliance, energy management and improvement projects across the site.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the maintenance and development of the Museum's London estate, including buildings, infrastructure and building services. Manage a small estates team providing leadership, support and development. Ensure compliance with all relevant estates, building and health and safety legislation and statutory requirements. Manage contractors, consultants and service providers to deliver high-quality and cost-effective services. Specify, procure and deliver maintenance, refurbishment and minor capital projects.
Manage delegated budgets and provide regular financial and performance reporting. Support strategic estates developments, exhibitions and wider Museum projects. Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives through effective managem

Job Responsibilities Relevant professional qualification or significant equivalent experience in estates, facilities or building services management.
Experience managing a complex estate, including building maintenance, M&E services and statutory compliance.
Experience leading teams and managing contractors, consultants and service providers.
Experience delivering estates projects and managing budgets.
