Location:
Dagenham
Shift Pattern: 3-on, 2-off / 2-on, 3-off / 2-on, 2-off / 3-on, 3-off
Hours:
42 hours per week (18:00pm – 06:00am)
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Print Finisher to join our busy production environment on the night shift. You will be responsible for operating a wide range of finishing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work to tight deadlines, and hands-on technical knowledge of finishing processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate a variety of finishing machinery including:
* Cutting & Trimming – Guillotines (Polar, Wohlenberg, or equivalent).
* Folding – Stahlfolders, MBO or similar.
* Binding – Perfect binding, PUR binding, Saddle-stitching
* Laminating & Coating – Encapsulation and digital lamination machines.
* Die-cutting, Creasing & Perforating – Cylinders or platen machines.
* Check work against job specifications and conduct quality checks throughout the finishing process.
* Ensure jobs are completed on time, in full, and ready for dispatch.
* Assist with machine set-up, calibration, and routine maintenance.
* Minimise waste by ensuring efficient use of materials and accurate setup.
* Follow production schedules and prioritise workloads effectively.
* Adhere to all health and safety standards, keeping the workspace safe and organised.
* Support colleagues across the department with cross-training and flexible working as required.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Print Finisher in a high-volume print production environment.
* Hands-on knowledge of finishing processes and machinery.
* Strong eye for detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues.
* Organised and able to manage workloads under pressure.
* Flexible and team-oriented approach.
