Overview
Lutron Electronics has an immediate opening for a Materials Assistant to join our team at the Lutron Warehouse facility in London. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build a career with a high‑tech company in a hands‑on environment. You will also be able to cross‑train across multiple departments while supporting a wide range of activities, including engineering, manufacturing, assembly, quality control, material handling, and packaging operations.
ResponsibilitiesReceiving & Put‑Away
- Receive and process incoming materials from internal transfers and external suppliers.
- Verify items in JD Edwards (E1) and set up new Item Branch records.
- Create and maintain Master Locations, Location Profiles, staging areas, and zones based on dimensions and characteristics.
- Schedule daily/weekly work orders for production teams.
- Partner with Supply Chain to adjust or expedite schedules as needed.
- Support production assembly, including buddy‑checks for training and QA.
- Schedule preventative maintenance for facility equipment.
- Run Cognos/Showcase reports to identify items for cycle counts and perform stock checks.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and log findings in EA Data Log/Metrics.
- Update workstation visual aids and process documentation.
- Manage product serialization for assigned product lines.
- Reclassify, scrap, or return materials based on stock condition.
- Troubleshoot issues related to testing tolerances, production errors, expedited orders, and shipping variances.
- Support process improvements on the assembly line.
- Assist assembly teams with equipment checks and testing to maintain Lutron quality standards.
- Experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards E1.
- Knowledge of BOMs, work orders, serialization, and custom manufacturing processes.
- Experience working with barcode systems and label printing.
- Proven organizational and multitasking capabilities.
- Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience using Cognos, Showcase, and Jira.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Basic technical knowledge of electrical components and assembly.
