Trims Assistant

Department: Home Production

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Reporting To: Production Buyer

Description

The Trims Assistant plays a key role in supporting the production process by sourcing, managing orders and tracking trims. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills and a keen interest in fashion production.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all trims are delivered on time to support production schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with factories and trim suppliers to anticipate and resolve potential issues or delays.
  • Monitor and update the Critical Path, flagging any risks or delays to the Production Buyer and wider team.
  • Manage trim stock levels proactively to prevent shortages or excess.
  • Order, track, and maintain trim samples, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Raise trim orders for Home Production styles.
  • Manage Kimball ordering for Home Production.
  • Maintain accurate data across systems including MDS, trim database, and purchase orders.
  • Liaise with suppliers, Designers, and Buyers to support trim development and approvals.
  • Track shipments and follow up to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
  • Support in preparing trim components for sample packs and product development.
  • Provide general support to the production team as needed, assisting with day‑to‑day coordination tasks.
  • Risk assess trims and ensure the relevant test reports are received and approved.
Skills
  • Organised, able to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Detail‑oriented with an interest in fashion production.
  • Basic knowledge of garment production and supply chain processes is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with production tracking systems.
