Benefits Lead

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Benefits Lead to support the development of a significant business case within a Central Government department. This pivotal role will shape the benefits strategy for a complex, high profile programme and ensure that benefits are clearly defined, evidenced and aligned to strategic objectives.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Benefits Lead will be responsible for designing and overseeing a comprehensive benefits framework that underpins the programme’s case for change. This includes creating detailed Benefits Registers, such as logic models, attribution pathways and quantification logic aligned to programme interventions and wider assurance expectations. The role will play a key part in ensuring benefits align seamlessly with the strategic narrative, financial modelling, and central government requirements.

A central element of the position involves close collaboration with analytical functions to co develop baselines, metrics and benefit measures. This will support the creation of defensible, evidence based benefits models that can withstand scrutiny. The postholder will also develop robust benefits tracking and reporting systems, including dashboards, templates and assurance products integrated into programme governance.

Strong leadership and influencing skills will be essential, with the ability to secure clear benefits ownership across work streams, run validation sessions, and drive consistent adoption of benefits processes. The role also involves developing structured knowledge transfer materials, walkthroughs and training to ensure sustainable capability and long term adoption of benefits tools across the programme.
