Senior Womenswear Garment Technologist – Tailoring

Our client is a highly respected international apparel supplier, renowned for delivering premium womenswear to some of the UK’s leading retailers and brands. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an exceptional Senior Womenswear Garment Technologist with specialist expertise in tailoring to join their London-based team.

This is a pivotal role for a confident and commercially minded technical professional who can take ownership of key tailoring accounts, influence product development from concept through to production, and act as a trusted technical partner to both customers and the manufacturing team.

Working closely with an established factory base in Bangladesh, you will play a critical role in driving fit, quality, construction, and technical excellence across tailored womenswear collections.

• Take ownership of the technical development of tailored womenswear collections from initial development through to production.
• Manage and build strong relationships with designated customer accounts, acting as the key technical contact.
• Lead fit sessions, evaluate samples, and provide clear technical direction to customers and factories.
• Drive fit consistency, garment performance, and quality standards across all product categories within tailoring.
• Work closely with Bangladesh-based manufacturing teams to ensure technical requirements are understood and executed accurately.
• Review garment construction, sewing methods, pattern development, and manufacturing techniques to achieve the best commercial and quality outcomes.
• Create, maintain, and manage detailed technical specifications, measurement charts, and product documentation.
• Oversee sample development through the critical path, ensuring deadlines and approval dates are achieved.
• Review lab reports, test results, risk assessments, and quality documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical and production challenges proactively, providing practical solutions throughout the development process.
• Collaborate closely with design, product development, merchandising, and sourcing teams to support successful product delivery.
• Support customer meetings, technical presentations, factory visits, and quality reviews as required.

• Extensive experience as a Garment Technologist within womenswear, ideally gained within a supplier environment.
• Demonstrable specialist expertise in womenswear tailoring is essential.
• Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit, pattern interpretation, manufacturing methods, and fabric performance.
• Experience managing customer accounts and building credible relationships with retail partners.
• Confident working directly with offshore factories, particularly within Bangladesh manufacturing operations.
• Commercially aware, solutions-focused, and capable of influencing decision-making across multiple stakeholders.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge, advise, and guide both customers and factories when required.
• A proactive individual who brings ideas, expertise, and technical leadership to the team.

• Based in London – office-based five days per week.
• Occasional UK and international travel may be required.
• Full right to work in the UK required.
